DESCRIPTION:Response to the \"Speak Up Winnipeg\" campaign has been sp
 ectacular. As you can see by posts on www.speakupwinnipeg.com, Winnipe
 ggers are full of great ideas about how they want their city to grow. 
 We've also got all kinds of reports, surveys, and analyses to fold int
 o the discussion. So what do we do now?\n\nFrom June 23 to June 26, we
 'll put on a public workshop that will include not only chances to tal
 k through some of the big ideas but also opportunities to sketch out h
 ow strategies might look if they were applied in specific areas of Win
 nipeg.\n\nOpening Night Event - an overview of the task at hand, with 
 an educational presentation followed by an engaging activity that enco
 urages Winnipeggers to share their perspectives. Target audience: gene
 ral public. Purpose: listening session / community input focused, bigg
 est event. Tuesday, June 23, 5-7 p.m.\n\nVisioning Workshop - an inter
 active event that combines elements from image preference surveys and 
 intimate small-group dialogue. Target audience: general public. Purpos
 e: listening session / community input focused. Wednesday, June 24, 3-
 5 p.m.\n\nTopic-Based Working Groups - stakeholder focus groups that a
 ddress topics involving Land Use Pattern, Downtown, Transportation, Pa
 rks, Urban Design, Infra-Structure, and Planning Processes. Target aud
 ience: stakeholder groups. Purpose: develop strategies on individual t
 opics. Daytime events June 23 - 26, see schedule.\n\nUrban Design Walk
 ing Tour - an opportunity to discuss the best and worst of Winnipeg ur
 ban design during a walking tour through key neighborhoods. Target aud
 ience: members government who will be making urban design decisions, a
 nd key real estate players. Purpose: education focused, with feedback 
 loops. Wednesday, June 24, 10:30 - 12 p.m.\n\nAsset Mapping Workshop -
  a collaborative work session for interested stakeholders to develop s
 pecific action ideas and begin forming work groups. Target audience: e
 lected officials, city staff, and other agencies and institutions invo
 lved in community building either professionally or with heavy-duty vo
 lunteer interest. Purpose: implementation focused. Friday, June 26, 8:
 30 - 10:30 a.m.\n\nClosing Night Presentation - an overview and summar
 y of the work done during the charrette, and point the way to the next
  steps. Target audience: general public. Purpose: summary of visioning
