"Manitobans are bucking the green trend by throwing away more garbage than ever before, earning the dubious distinction of being the worst recyclers in the country.
At a time when the rest of the country is diverting almost one-quarter of its garbage away from landfills, figures provided to the Canadian Press show Manitoba has gone in the other direction.
Statistics Canada says the province has seen the second-highest increase in trash in Canada and the worst recycling rate in the country. The agency found that although 97 per cent of Canadians who have access to recycling programs use them, only 88 per cent of Manitobans do."

Ehh, I just try looking for whatever excuse to start a conversation.
When I was in Ontario last summer, I noticed their garbage and recycling systems were fantastic. Recycling was so nicely promoted, and the cities even collected compost materials from homes! When you're driving down the streets, once in a while you'd see a sign reminding people they will get a $500 fine if caught littering.
I just thought it was an Ontario thing because there are just so many people living there. Why aren't we like the cities in Ontario?
