Welcome to the group! My name is Elle.

We somehow dropped from needing to pay $400 (individually) to about $300.

Here were some of the things we've done as a group:
-Contact student groups and student unions from universities for financial support
-Email companies for donations (money, free stuff for gift baskets, food, etc.)
-Dressed up as "Santa" and asked parents to donate money to us while we have kids sit on our laps (yes, it was as creepy as it sounds)
-Selling raffle tickets (50% of what you sell goes to you, and the other 50% goes to the Manitoba group)

People are free to do their own thing and fundraise individually if they want. Or they can let the group know if they have any ideas for big projects we can all work on.

At the moment, we're still sending emails and contacting companies and stores for more stuff. Every little bit helps. We're also still deciding on what to do with our current inventory of free stuff too.

Another thing that's going on will be a free movie premiere at the UofW. Here's the facebook events page:

Dean is actually expecting about 250 people. We'll be passing the hat for donations towards Power Shift during the event. After that, we may have a reception thing going on in the next room where we'll try to sell wine and more stuff.

Selling hot chocolate sounds great. We have 3 bags of fair trade coffee that will be great for selling, but hot chocolate will be perfect for the noon-coffee drinkers (like me!).

We're always looking for more fundraising ideas.

Thanks
Alison
